Good news! You will be able to return your library items to the Dow Centennial Centre every Saturday to our return bin during the centre’s open hours. Items will be quarantined for 7 days as per the new guidelines before being checked in.
FSPL will accept returns of library material 1 day per week through the outside book return. Returns will be accepted for a 24 hour period, beginning at 9:00am on the Tuesday, and ending at 9:00am on the Wednesday. Returns will only be accepted during this time frame, and beginning on this date.
Please do not bring your items back to the library when picking up holds or visiting the library. We cannot accept them outside of the designated return time.
With recent developments in research on the length of time the virus stay viable on stacked library material, we will be quarantining library items for at least 7 days before checking items in off patron accounts and shelving items. Items returned on Tuesday/Wednesday will be checked in the following Wednesday/Thursday. Items returned to the DCC on Saturday will be checked in a week from the following Monday. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Items checked out to you may remain on your library card for the 7 day quarantine duration, but don’t worry – items will be checked in as soon as we are able.
To help our staff process items quickly in a safe manner, please only return library items through the return chute.
Returns
All Fort Saskatchewan Public Library (FSPL) items have been quarantined for a minimum of 7 days.
Patrons who are immune compromised or susceptible to infections should not take out items from the library.
Patrons are advised to wash hands before and after handling library materials.
Patrons are advised to avoid touching their face while reading, and to avoid sneezing or coughing onto library materials.
